They care more about filling seats than the actual children themselves. My daughter gets straight As, awards, and LOVES school. She would do anything to make her teachers happy but she also unfortunately has medical issues that require regular doctor's visits. She never misses school for any reason that isnt medical and I always try to set her appointments up as late as I can. Even if she misses 15 MINUTES for an appointment, that's an absence. When exactly are we supposed to schedule appointments when the latest you can get is 4pm and school doesn't get out until 4:05? They encourage sending your children to school while miserable and neglect their health so you can't convince me they actually care about these kids more than lining their own pockets.

My experience has been different from others. I attend TSYWL and there is amazing staff however I feel as though the school activities don't compare to other schools and there is much less to offer. Also for a school that is college prep, there are too many classes where teachers micromanage the students and do not truly prepare the students for being on their own.

I moved to Lubbock High for my freshman year of high school after being in Lubbock-Cooper ISD. It was a big change, to say the least, it was the year of COVID-19, there were tons of changes going on at the time, and I didn't know anyone. But, I became accepted here and I found my place. Most of the teachers welcomed me with open arms, the students were nice and quickly became good friends, and I genuinely enjoyed being here at school. Yes, there are always some things you can change such as the cleanliness, the curriculum, and some teachers that aren't the best, but moving to Lubbock High was one of the best decisions I could have made!
