I love how USN combines tradition with diversity and innovation. With 100+ years of experience, it prioritizes inclusivity, preparing students for a globalized world. Its progressive teaching methods emphasize critical thinking. Along with academics, there is a focus on social-emotional learning and community engagement. USN offers a well-rounded education in a dynamic educational environment and prepares students for success.

I have two children at USN whose learning profiles are opposite of each other and have felt more than supported with both of them. The administration pays attention to both strengths and weaknesses of students and works hard to engage with parents to offer help where needed. All of the teachers we have experience with are incredibly thoughtful and caring about how they interact with their students and the parents. There are a ton of clubs, athletic and artistic offerings available-many starting in lower school-all providing wonderful ways to be involved with both the school community and the Edgehill/Nashville community. I can’t say enough good things about the education my children are receiving at USN.

I've been going to University School of Nashville since I was in kindergarten and I've thoroughly enjoyed all 13 years. I was behind when I started, but was encouraged by my lower school teachers and quickly started thriving. Especially in my high school years, I've started to branch out into the various different organizations USN offers, but also I've made many new friends. This school is very academically competitive, which I like. I feel that I've been adequately prepared for high school. My only complaints about this school is diversity and some teachers. Out of all the private schools in the Nashville area, USN is definitely the most diverse. However, there aren't many black women in my grade, which made it harder in my younger years. As for teachers, we have many great ones at our school. However, I have had some bad experiences with a few teachers who are very reluctant to help or ones that aren't willing to support me fully. All in all, though, USN is a great school.

USN is a very unique place that has excellent parts of it. I really like smaller classes and I have never had a bad teacher before. One thing I wish I could change about USN would be to get the whole school to have better school spirit. USN doesn’t have a football team so our main sport is basketball and those games are really lame and no one really goes. Still USN is a great place to go to school and it is unlike any other school I have interacted with. 4/5 stars

USN is great. The teachers care a lot about students, and there is a very diverse and open culture on campus.

The University School of Nashville administration is aware of the problems within the student body yet does nothing to resolve these problems. Most students have experienced some form of bullying. They cultivate an environment where students become depressed. The school will present statistics about the widespread depression, anxiety, bullying, etc. occurring but they do not present a solution. When students ask for help, the administration prefers to ignore the problem rather than provide students with support. My four years at the University School of Nashville were the worst four years of my life. It is an unsafe community, especially to grow up in.

Great school with competitive but diverse students. Extracurriculars focus more on doing a bunch of things than focusing on one thing well.

Overall bad school. The administration doesn’t care very about student wellbeing, they don’t listen to complaints at all. They also heavily favor kids who’s families donate to the school when it comes to justice. The academics are overwhelming and most of the kids just cheat to get through it. There’s a few really good courses but the rest don’t get any attention and the massive budget is very poorly spent. Definitely not worth 30k a year, just send your kids to public school they’ll have a better experience

Excellent places to go eat off-campus whenever you want.
Students and their teachers are all well connected and friendly to each other.

It's a very inclusive welcoming place. Everyone here feels welcomed and fits it somewhere. There are support groups for the LGBTQ community. There are mental health resources and there are plenty of people to talk to.

I really love the atmosphere, while the material is really hard the teachers seem to balance it out with lots of fun material and they are sure to help when needed. As someone who just started high school here, they do a great job of transitioning you from middle school to high school; especially during covid. There are also lots of outside activities such as volleyball games which everyone is welcome to come to watch. Plus there is plenty of space for people to hangout of talk. This also comes in handy when you need to study as there is the commons, Library, cafeteria, and patios. Plenty of space for your kid to enjoy for both hanging out and also for studying.

I am a grandparent to one graduate & one present high school student at USN. I am amazed at how confident and well educated these two have become. They are also good citizens and very compassionate young people.

The best thing about USN is the High School. More specifically, the teachers. My children are very prepared to succeed in college. The school's biggest challenge is parking!

University School of Nashville is definitely one of the best schools in Nashville, TN. The teachers show that they care for every student and make sure that they're okay instead of cramming them with work. Teachers and all faculty are kind and caring.
