You can find all sorts of restaurants, stunning street art murals, and many things to do. TRAVEL GUIDE TO THE GULCH IN NASHVILLE

In this travel guide to The Gulch in Nashville you will find the best things to do, best places to eat at, gorgeous murals to take pictures at, best places to stay at, and even some of my favorite shopping stores. Nashville has a lot to offer so even if you are wanting to explore other parts of Nashville, don’t miss out on making this neighborhood a part of your Nashville adventure.

THE GULCH: BEST INSTAGRAM-WORTHY MURALS

Nashville has many murals painted by some very amazing artists. The Gulch has some of the most iconic ones in the city in my opinion. You can find all sorts of murals from abstract murals to the famous #WhatLiftsYou wings that everyone wants to take a picture with… even me.

IAN ROSS MURAL

The Ian Ross Mural is a green and blue abstract mural painted on the side of a building across Milk and Honey. The parking lot located on this mural is where we usually park at when we visit The Gulch.

ACOUSTIC SKYLINE BY ALLISON JOHNSON

This is another beautiful mural but sadly we didn’t get a chance to make our way to it. The mural is of a guitar with the top of the guitar is the Nashville skyline.

JASON WOODSIDE MURAL AKA LEGO MAN MURAL

This is another beautiful abstract and colorful mural. It is located in the same parking lot as Ian Ross Mural but on the right side (if you’re facing the murals). You can’t miss it. This mural was painted by Jason Woodside is it is also known as the Lego Man Mural. Probably because some of the aspects of the mural look like Lego pieces.

CHRIS ZIDEK WHISKEY KITCHEN MURAL

This is another abstract mural painted at the top peak of the Whiskey Kitchen Bar and Grill. It’s not as huge as the other ones but it is still beautiful. I love all of the blue tones in this one.

WHAT LIFTS YOU WINGS BY KELSEY MONTAGUE

This is one of the most loved murals in The Gulch. During busy weekends you can find a line of people waiting to take pictures with the iconic What Lifts You Wings by Kelsey Montague. There is even a small set of wings for the kids to take a picture too if the bigger wings are too large.

NATHAN BROWN MURAL

the Nathan Brown mural is another colorful abstract mural that can be found in The Gulch neighborhood. It is very pretty and definitely one that you should check out if you’re into finding mural artwork in the city.

BEST RESTAURANTS TO EAT AT THE GULCH, NASHVILLE

One thing that The Gulch is popular for is eating. The Gulch neighborhood provides a good variety of restaurants, different foods, coffee shops, juice bars, breweries, and more. I have been lucky to try some of these restaurants with my family while exploring this beautiful neighborhood in Nashville.

I am going to break this up into 3 different sections for restaurants. The best ones for breakfast and brunch, the best for lunch and dinner, and the best places to get coffee, juice, and baked treats. Coffee shops and bakeries are definitely some of my favorite places to visit when exploring a city such as Nashville.

BEST BREAKFAST AND BRUNCH RESTAURANTS AT THE GULCH, NASHVILLE

I love to start the day with a delicious breakfast and a good cup of coffee. However, during travels, it can sometimes be a hit or miss when finding the best place to go to. Not no more! Here are the best places to go eat breakfast and brunch at in The Gulch.

BISCUIT LOVE

If you love biscuits then this is the place to go. Their entire menu is of different dishes made with delicious buttermilk biscuits. Buttermilk biscuits are my favorite! Don’t worry though, they have some dishes without biscuits on their menu as well so they have something for everyone.

MILK AND HONEY

Milk and Honey is a delicious brunch location that is open all day. It serves delicious coffee and cold pressed juices along with bakery treats, chicken and waffles, salads, sandwiches, and wood-fire pizza. If you would eat breakfast at any time of the day like me then this is one place you want to check out. Plus they have a good variety on their menu so if you travel with someone who wants something more dinner

BEST LUNCH AND DINNER RESTAURANTS AT THE GULCH, NASHVILLE

The Gulch has a restaurant for every meal of the day. Most people look for the best restaurants for lunch and dinner so I am featuring the best restaurants that you have to try.

THE 404 KITCHEN

This culinary delight at the 404 Kitchen has a wide menu to satisfy everyone. They have from burgers to steaks and even a full vegetarian menu. Looking for a 21+ drink? Check out their co*cktails, delicious wines, and whiskeys.

THE PUB

The Pub in a London themed restaurant with various dish options such as burgers, sandwiches, soups, and more. However, The Pub is known for their alcoholic drinks. You can find a good variety of draughts such as Scottish Ale and Bourbon along with other beers, wines, co*cktails, and spirits. They also serve a brunch and lunch menu for those like me that needs to eat breakfast even if they wake up at noon.

WHISKEY KITCHEN

The Whiskey Kitchen is another dine in restaurant to check out during your travels. They provide a fine dining experience along with some of the best bourbon whiskey in the area. They have been featured in multiple articles for their gorgeous patio and top of the notch whiskeys. On a family friendlier side of things, they have a some very tasty meals for brunch, lunch, and even dinner that are perfect for the family.

TAZIKI’S MEDITERRANEAN CAFE

I first tried Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe during a blogger’s event in Nashville hosted by Blogger Xchange and fell in love with their food. I highly recommend this restaurant as well. Their food is delicious and the environment is definitely family friendly as well as their menu.

Pizza for the win! If you are looking for a top of the notch pizza joint then Emmy Squared is the place to go. They have the best pizza in The Gulch along. Their menu also includes some delicious appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, and much more.

BEST PLACES TO STAY AT THE GULCH, NASHVILLE

There’s not many options of places to stay in The Gulch but Nashville in all has a wide variety of resorts and hotels for you to choose from. The Gulch is not too far from other neighborhoods that may have more hotel options so don’t hesitate to take a look. I’ve personally never stayed at any of these hotels since I only live about 40 minutes away but I’m going to share the top ones with you to make your travel planning easier.

THOMPSON NASHVILLE HOTEL BY HYATT

This luxury hotel is a little on the higher end but so beautiful. Perfect for a couples romantic getaway or honeymoon hotel. Thompson of Nashville has different styles of rooms for you to reserve making it perfect for your travel budget. From regular sized rooms to luxury suites and even a penthouse. Thompson Nashville hotel is part of the Hyatt hotel chain so if you are a member of Hyatt’s program then you can qualify for additional discounts and more.

Looking for an hotel with rooftop access and that feels more like home? Locale offers apartment styled rooms for you to rent. They come with a fully stocked kitchen, on-site laundry, rooftop access overlooking Nashville, all the essentials that you need. They also offer different styles. Some have a studio layout perfect for couples or a solo trip as well as 1 or 2 bedrooms making it perfect for families with kids.

FAIRFIELD INN & SUITES – NASHVILLE DOWNTOWN / THE GULCH

This family friendly hotel has rooms for everyone. It is perfect for families, solo trips, and even couples or a girls weekend getaway. It is reasonably priced and nothing high-end or super luxurious but definitely comfortable. When we travel we usually stay at a Fairfield Inn or another hotel similar to these and they never disappoint.

THE UNION STATION HOTEL

The Union Station is right outside of The Gulch neighborhood but it’s literally a short walking distance from it. This resort is one of a kind historical hotel located in Nashville Yards right next to The Gulch. You can see it from the Ian Ross Mural and even walk to it in a few minutes from there. Because it is such a unique and beautiful hotel and how close it is to The Gulch, I decided to include it in this travel guide.

The Union Station hotel is actually a grand train station that was built in the 1900’s. This historical train station offers a unique style to the hotel along with architectural designs that are one of a kind. It joined the Marriot Autograph Collection back in 2012 because of it’s unique features and style. This grand train station now offers the hotel guests gorgeous rooms and suites along with delicious food from their restaurant.

THE BEST SHOPS AT THE GULCH IN NASHVILLE

I love checking out new local shops when I travel. The Gulch definitely had a wide variety of shops to see. Nashville being music city and all you can be sure to find some music stores featuring vintage guitars. You can also find some outdoor stores such as Patagonia and even some very cute boutiques. There is definitely a shop for every style and taste.

HOW TO GET AROUND AT THE GULCH IN NASHVILLE

There are numerous ways to get around The Gulch. People usually go by foot but you can also rent a scooter, a bike, ride your own bike around the neighborhood, or even take the bus. You can also do Uber if you plan to get to further destinations in Nashville during your travels.
