Locations and Upgrades for all Armor Sets | Zelda Universe (2024)

In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, there are several outfits and accessories that you can wear. They can be found in the skies, on land and down below in the depths of Hyrule. In addition, a large handful of them can be upgraded to increase their abilities and bonuses.

If you ever lose or sell armor pieces, you can repurchase many of them from either Cece (Hateno Village) or the Bargainer Statues in the Depths. This includes weapons or armor you can obtain with amiibo figures.

HOW TO UNLOCK UPGRADING ARMOR

Before you can upgrade armor, there are a series of side quests to complete that requires helping the Great Fairies. You unlock armor upgrades by helping each Great Fairy located across Hyrule, which involves a series of quests. For every Great Fairy you help, the further you can upgrade armor. Certain sets provide set bonuses when upgraded, but only when wearing their complete set.

The Great Fairies are located in these places in Tears of the Kingdom:

Tera: Northwest of Woodland Stable

Kaysa: West of Outskirt Stable

Mija: Northeast of Snowfield Stable

Cotera: South of Dueling Peaks Stable

Archaic Set

The Archaic armor set is found in chests throughout the Great Sky Islands, the starting location of Tears of the Kingdom.

Archaic Tunic: Found in a chest in Pondside Cave (Great Sky Island). This clothing cannot be enhanced.

Cost: 50 Rupees (from Cece in Hateno Village)

Archaic Legwear: Found in a chest located near the exit of the Room of Awakening (very beginning of the game). This clothing cannot be enhanced.

Cost: 50 Rupees (from Cece in Hateno Village)

Archaic Warm Greaves: Located in a chest under a rooted tree; next to the Gutanbac Shrine. (Great Sky Island) Bonus Effect: Cold Resistance. This clothing cannot be enhanced.

The Soldier armor set can be found in three separate chests throughout a long passageway accessed through the Royal Hidden Passageway. One of the hidden ways to access this place is in the Emergency Shelter of the Lookout Landing once you complete the side quest “Regional Phenomena.”

The entire Froggy armor set can be obtained by completing all the Side Adventures with the Lucky Clover Gazette. These quests initiate at several Stables across Hyrule by talking with Penn. These quests won’t activate until you first speak to Penn at Lookout Landing.

The Yiga armor set not only grants stealth when wearing the complete set, but will give Link the ability to pose as a Yiga Footsoldier & gain access to Yiga Clan locations while in disguise. This armor is required in order to obtain Yiga-exclusive items and abilities.

Can be obtained with the Revali amiibo or completing the quest “Treasure of the Secret Springs.” It can be found inside North Biron Snowshelf Cave, in the northern part of the Hebra region.

Vah Rudania Divine Helm

Can be obtained with the Daruk amiibo or completing the quest “The Hidden Treasure at Lizard Lakes.” The helm can be found inside Lizard’s Burrow, in the northern part of Death Mountain.

Vah Ruta Divine Helm

Rewarded by Yiga Blademaster after completing the Yiga Traininig Minigame three times; third challenge requires defeating 9 Yiga Footsoldiers in under a minute. The Yiga armor outfit must be worn to take on this challenge.

Sand Boots

Bokoblin Mask

Upon completing the quest, “The Hunt for Bubbul Gems!”, Koltin will give you the Bokolin Mask as a reward for one Bubbul Gem. Bokoblin enemies won’t attack you when wearing the mask.

Horriblin Mask

After completing the quest, “The Hunt for Bubbul Gems!”, Koltin will start traveling Hyrule and can be found at night. Trade 4 Bubbul Gems (30 in total) to get the Horriblin Mask. Horriblin enemies won’t attack you when wearing the mask.

Cost: 4,000 Rupees (from Cece in Hateno Village)

Moblin Mask

After completing the quest, “The Hunt for Bubbul Gems!”, Koltin will start traveling Hyrule and can be found at night. Trade 2 Bubbul Gems (3 in total) to get the Moblin Mask. Moblin enemies won’t attack you when wearing the mask.

Lizalfos Mask

After completing the quest, “The Hunt for Bubbul Gems!”, Koltin will start traveling Hyrule and can be found at night. Trade 3 Bubbul Gems (15 in total) to get the Lizalfos Mask. Lizalfos enemies won’t attack you when wearing the mMask.

Lynel Mask

After completing the quest, “The Hunt for Bubbul Gems!”, Koltin will start traveling Hyrule and can be found at night. Trade 4 Bubbul Gems (38 in total) to get the Lynel Mask. Lynels will not be easily fooled when wearing the mask.

Can be purchased by one of the Bargaining Statues in the Depths once all six statues have been located.

The chest is below the water of the main bay area of Lurelin Village. Use Ultrahand to make a long bridge in order to reach the chest.

Location: Secluded Coliseum (Depths); to obtain this armor, a series of rounds against Lizalfos must be defeated.

Location: Lone Island Coliseum (Depths; accessed through Eventide Island Chasm); to obtain this armor, a series of rounds against Bokoblins must be defeated.

Majora’s Mask

Location: Floating Coliseum (Depths); to obtain this armor, a series of rounds against Lynels must be defeated.

Korok Mask

Location: Forest Coliseum (Depths); to obtain this armor, defeat a Black Hinox when summoned by the Yiga Clan in the coliseum. This mask, when worn, will sense nearby Koroks when traveling on land or in the sky.

Tingle Set

Tingle’s Hood

Location: Inside a chest; Statue of the Eight Heroine Cave. Use a Zonai Mirror to reflect light on statue’s chest with daylight. When inside, use a Zonai Fan to remove sand from chest.

Cost: 400 Poes (Bargainer Statues)

Tingle’s Shirt

Location: Inside a chest; Dueling Peaks South Cave. In order to gain access to this chest, the rocks placed inside this cave must be put in a certain order. The correct pattern can be found in the Dueling Peaks North Cave.

Tingle’s Tights

Location: Inside a chest; Cape Cales Cliffbase Cave. Use a raft to move inside the cave, then whistle to make the the path appear. Chest is placed on the pirate ship.

The armor set for the Evil Spirit outfit (also known as the Phantom Ganon armor from Breath of the Wild) can be obtained by completing a series of quests at each of the Labyrinths. There are three trials set in each location; one on land, in the sky and in the depths. Completing all of these trials will reward a piece of the Evil Spirit set.
